The current St. John's Church is actually the fourth parish site used by the oldest continually-functioning Anglican parish in the nation, which was established in 1610. Built in 1728, the walls are constructed in the Flemish Bond style and the graves of many 18th century churchgoers can be found outside the walls. It sits a few blocks from the waterfront in Hampton, near the Virginia Air & Space Center and within two miles of the three parish sites that existed between 1610 and 1728.
